[Note From A ChainFree Living Comunity Member: I personally know Dr. Yi Wu and have studied his translations of Chinese ancient sacred wisdom texts for years. In my opinion, there is no better translation in existence of the 'Tao Te Ching', and Dr. Wu's ability to interweave psychological precepts familiar to Westerners adds great value to the book. Therapists who ascribe to Eastern pathways of healing will especially appreciate this most outstanding translation]: This book is the result of classroom trial and experiment. The presentations of each chapter follows the procedure of first examining the Chinese characters, with English transliterations specifically limited to usages in the period of Lao Tzu's thought. This book has already been used in the classroom for 24 years. Now it is published on Amazon for more readers to benefit and enjoy.

I’ve read several translations of the Tao Te Ching and this is my favorite. Dr. Wu has a scholarly approach to the text. The introduction roots the text historically and then he outlines the essence and function of the Tao. This philosophical rendering reads very well and sources some classic Chinese commentaries. Although I do not read Chinese, this book is bilingual. An added plus for those who are studying Chinese or English.
